My vette's in the shop getting what I call a "performance makeover". Heads and intake ported, aligned and polished. Hi-po roller cam. Rear gears 3.54. Powder coated long-tube headers. Undersized pullys. Etc etc.
What I need advice on is while the motor is out and torn down, should I go ahead and have the rings and bearings changed also? It has 64k miles on it....and doesn't smoke or use a drop of oil between 3k oil changes. I don't intend to race it, but, well you know how Corvette drivers are.......I might "get on it" once in a while.
At this point it would only add about 3 bills extra to the overall cost. Is it worth it, or would doing so be a waste of bucks...like if it ain't broke, why fix it?
Thanks,
Karl (things ARE going to be different next year, heh heh heh)
