I am considering an LT4 Hotcam for my L98 with high flow intake (ported plenum, large tube runners & Acell manifold) on the recommendation of my tuner (Chris Petris of the Corvette Clinic).
Can I hear from you folks that have used this cam in your L98 please?
Good, bad or indiffrent, please chime in.
Thanks,
We installed this cam on my brother's 86. We are however using SR and trickflow heads. haven't dynoed the car, but it runs great. the only problem is that the idle is a little high (his is auto), but other than that it's a great buy.
i don't remember exactly, but it seems when i was asking about this ~6 months ago or so, that just seemed to be everyone's input, that it's better for M6s....i dunno
Whew!  I'm running fine with this cam in my auto. The only thing I'd say is a pain is when I set the TPS to it's highest limit, the car wants to go when you barely hit the throttle. I had the TPS set to stock before I swapped in the Vigilante and it was till a bit touchy. I literally had to stand on the brakes for the car not to move when in gear. I just assume that's the same with all cams. Now with the 2800 stall, that is not a problem anymore.
i talked to tpis about putting this cam in my 91 and he sayed you can make more power an have i better idle with the zz409. also comp can makes a few better grinds. but for 200.00 its a good buy..
I have an Auto. I was hoping to wait untill I needed to make trans. repairs before I changed th TC to save labor costs.
That sounds reasonable. Luckily for me my trans went south less than a week before I was scheduled to bring my car in for the TC or I would have paid twice for trans removal.
