Default and after the first burn

I already know, but need just one more person to tell me.

I got a DA2 stock bin off the net from diyefi.org.

Burned a chip and put it in the car to lower fan temps and get the converter locked at 42 instead of 48 unlocks at 39 instead of 45.

The tranny would not shift at WOT 2nd to 3rd.
Now I think it's smoked, and it was rebuilt less than 8000 miles on it.
It shifted fine with the old chip right at 5500.
I only did 4 WOT passes with the new chip, along with about 5 hours of cruise and data collection.

The question? is there any way the chip could change a 700r4 in a 92 vette?
I know the converter is the only thing that is controled right?
So there should have been no change in the shift points.

Guess I just needed to get this outa my system, cus it looks like I'm buying another tranny rebuild :(

Thanks for listening
