So far so good! The first drive blew the rest of the coolant out after a couple of 1/2 throttle bursts in 1st gear. What a thick fog it left behind me. Damn I forgot how hard this thing pulls in upper RPM range. I haven't gone over 4800 yet and I'm already smiling.
I put it back up on the ramps to tighten a couple things and then when I went to start it it won't start. ARGHHHHH!!! I think it might be VATS though. The security light is blinking at me and I don't even hear the starter solenoid click or relay into action. We'll see I guess. I'm going to wait 10 mins and try again with my other set of keys.
Found it. It is the starter enabler wire on the starter. The stud moves about 1/32" back and forth and I don't think the nut was completely tight. I wiggled it some with my fingers and it started right up. I'm going to try and get a socket on it tomorrow to make sure the nut is tight, but the headers are wrapped tight around that sucker. :) Hopefully that 1/32" isn't a factor becuase I really don't feel like pulling the header on that side to get the starter out now
Ok some proof it moved on its own. And no, Rich, that fluid didn't just show up after parking it, thats from washing the antifreeze off the driveway. :D
Great stuff! It does my heart good to hear about success in a major project like yours. I know your feeling as you first drove it. I bet you're trying to find places to drive to just to drive it again. :yesnod: I'm getting closer myself, maybe this weekend.
