Okay, I'd like to hear from you guys who have installed a Meziere Pump on your LT-1/4. I'm designing an electrical circuit and would like some input from you like what components you used, what gauge wire, where did you tap into for power (both signal and pump supply) and where did you get your components. I'm looking at an interesting relay kit by Painless listed in Jegs part # 764-50106. Any input would be appreciated.
Re: Electrics 101 on Mez pump install LT-1 (Strick)
I used 12 gauge wire, a 30 amp relay, and a 20 amp fused 12v power lead. I tapped into one the relays located on the radiator shroud for my 12v switched power to the relay.

I found his IM but I guess he's out. I'm using a relay and some wire and a fuse holder and a nice connector for now. I like the Electric water pump relay kit that Painless Performance Products in Jeg's. I also have a schematic of a cool circuit that has warning lights and all. Thanks again. I'll order my CB next week. Time to
Re: Electrics 101 on Mez pump install LT-1 (Strick)
:hurray: :hurray: Got it figured out. Here's how it works: The fans are powered directly from the battery by way of a relay which gets its signal from the "run-on, bulb test, crank" circuitry(when your key is on this circuit is on). My question was how does the ECM control the fans? The signal wire goes directly to the relay from the run-on circuitry and the ground side of the signal circuit goes to the ECM where the ECM controls the fans by grounding this lead. So, the pink wire that goes to the relays is what we need to power the signal side of the water pump relay. I'll have all this in my Tech Tips Article on how to install a Meziere Water pump. :chevy

I got this warning curcuit that uses a buzzer and LED. I got it from this guy (94Sleeper) on http://www.camaroz28.com/ message board. I put the buzzer and the LED in the center vent. So when the WP fails I hear the buzzer and the LED being lite tells me the WP is working. I feel very comfortable about having an electric WP with this in place. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/khartnett232402/Pump.doc
