Sorry guys, not a vette question but it's still a Chevy. My 91 s10 Blazer has vapor locked on me twice this summer all ready and in all the years I've had it it has never done it before, the truck has a new fp, fp relay and filter all replaced this winter. the temp has been in the upper 90's and both times it happened I was stuck in traffic. Any ideas guys??? :mad
What steps have you taken to determine it is a fuel problem? I have seen a coil cause the same symptoms but it is a little tougher to nail down. When the windings expand from heating up they can short out, but be just fine when cold. Maybe if you have an extra coil you can put it in as a test. Good luck this is a tough one.
A couple of ideas (somewhat related to similar problems that I've had before).
If you are carbureted (sorry, I can't remember when the change was made) this can cause that symptom, esp. on the 2.8 engine. Been there, done that.
If you have FI, then you may be having trouble with the injectors. I've changed the injectors on a 95 4.3 engine and may have to change the injectors on my 97 S-10 truck, also 4.3. Doing it yourself is not terribly complicated and saves a lot of money. If you find that the injectors are a possible cause, send me an email and I'll try to hook you up with some links that explain it better than I can.
