My 91 vette now has 110,000 miles on it (daily drive) and I still love it, although things are starting to happen...front end shakes like mad around 65+ mph...alignement, wheel balance issue (new tires 1 yr ago), rotors or could it be all all these???? Also over the last couple of months I have noticed that when I start the car whitish but more light bluish smoke from exhaust, as well as when I'm sitting in traffic. why???
The front end shake may be tires out of balance.Alignment only effects tracking. The smoke is a problem.Smoke at start up indicates worn valve seals, if it smokes after it's warmed up then it's your piston rings.Unless it smells like gas, then your running way rich, but I doubt it.
I would have the tires rebalanced, change the oil and filter.Add a can of STP motor oil treatment. If this stops the smoking, start saving some money. It's only a quick fix and you will need rings soon.GOOD LUCK :chevy
Get the wheels balanced ASAP; if the fronts are cupped by now, rotate with the rears. A 4-wheel alignment would likely be a good idea too unless it was done when the new skins went on.
If valve seals are worn both upper & lowers need to be replaced; also replace the locks with forged ones.
