Selling my HPP+ to get either one of the these so I can play around with more settings (or spiral deeper into the abyss as my wife says...)
Which allows more parameters to be adjusted? Tunercat's web site is a little vague on what all can be done w/ OBDI '95 LT1 Y-body. LT1EDIT looks like it can do a lot if you buy the extra $50 'expert mode' upgrade, but that makes it about twice the cost of TunerCat.
I would be a novice, so ease of use/understandability is an issue as well.
Tunercat is a great program. I have it down pretty well, except for the auto trans tuning. Anything that I can help with, feel free to email me directly.
I use LT1Edit and have played (a little) with Tunercat.
They both have similiar functions as long as you get the LT1Edit, expert version. The basic LT1Edit version is equivalent to your Hypertech programmer and lacks a lot of advance function.
LT1Edit has an easy to use interface, Tunercat requires a little more computer savy. Both have a strong support group with LT1Edit having it's own newsgroup / mail list (don't know if same true for Tunercat).
TunerCat is cheaper and able to port to other cars (with additional definitions). Lt1Edit is more costly and dedicated to one VIN car unless you pay for additional licenses.
Overall: My thoughts only.
Cost: Tunercat cheap, LT1Edit more expensive.
Ease of use: LT1Edit easy GUI, Tunercat requires a little more config.
Functionality: Both equivalent.
I didn't see on the tunercat site if it works with Windows XP Home and Windows 2000. I'll look again. My wife's laptop runs Win XP Home, my work laptop runs Win 2000. Both have RS232 ports. Wish the AKM cable was less money, but then 15' is a loooooong cable.
