I have a 1994 automatic corvette (dana 36 2.59 gear) and saw this one from Richmond gear. Do anyone know if it will fit my carrier and will I require shims, bearing from Richmond?
Corvette 84-96
3.75 ratio (fits 2.73 and bumerically lower carrier)
10 holes, 10 bolt, 7.725" diameter ring gear,
1.376" diameter pinion, 26 splines
When you go to that link and click on the gasket, it will take you to a listing. Scroll down to the Dana 36 section and they have two gear sets that will work for your 2 series carrier (2.59 gear).
3.54 set is p/n 49-0143-1
3.75 set is p/n 49-0110-1
The -1 denotes use with a 2 series carrier. That makes the base ring thicker in order to reach the gear.
Hope this helps. I am considering doing the same thing.
Thanks for the reply. How do I know what series carrier I have? Also, it does not say in this page if there is a shim bearing kit availiable (assuming I need one). Thanks again.
