Default Code 32?

Today the Service Engine Soon light came on after getting gas. The light went out after 10-15 miles. It happened twice - I tooI got a code 32 EGR Failure on the AutoXray. I could not find this code in the service manual....Any thoughts?

Thanks

I had the same thing happen. The general consensus on the forum seems to be Oh well....its hot. Ignore it. Seems to be a summer thing.

Mine usually does it on the freeway after about 10 or 15 minutes....never in traffic and if I turn the car off the light stays off when I turn it back on.

:iagree: EGR problem. Seems to go hand in hand with installing after market headers.

Same problem with my 86. Replaced the EGR switch. Problem solved! Mid America has the kit for $20. :yesnod:

Also can happen with other exhaust changes - it started on mine when I installed my Flowmaster catback system. Basically anything that changes the backpressure on the system. My mechanic told me not to worry about it. You can get aftermarket chips that will eliminate it if you don't like looking at the warning light all the time.
