My wipers are crashing into each other again. I solved this problem a couple years ago by installing the drivers side wiper at 1 inch shorter than the other.
Now, the key on the drivers side post is worn away to about 25% of its normal length, causing the wiper to drift and consequently impact the other again. So...where can I get a new post, or do I have to replace the whole shaft assembly? It looks like the splined post is a permanent press fit on the shaft.
Thanks in advance
Somewhere on the forum I saw a posting about using the newer 96 arms and blades to prevent the crashing. I did it and what a blessing. Why GM waited so many years to upgrade it, I don't understand!
Had the same problem on my 90
Changed to the 96 wiper arms/wipers. Got them from TLD in Atlanta. Fixed the problem. Run a search on this issue and you should find several threads discussing this "fix". Good luck.
