My previous best 1/4 mile time is in my sig, as well as, the mods I had at the time (also had 2.59 rear). In fact here's the whole slip to compare to my new best.
Since that time I have added a 3.07 rear, an accel intake, ASM runners, a ported plenum, Ford 24 lb injectors, 1.6 Pro Magnum rollers, new valve springs springs, and a Holley AFPR. I got to the track last night for the first time with the new set-up. I'd have to say the weather was less than ideal, probably about mid 80s when we arrived and fairly humid so I wasn't expecting great results. I made three runs and the first two were less then stellar. On the first I accidentally ran with the AC on . The second run was made about 45 seconds after the first so the car was way too hot. I then had about a 50 minute wait prior to the third run so I took advantage of the down time by icing down the plenum. Anyway the results are as follows
I must say I'm pretty happy with the results for my first time out with the new mods when considering the weather and the fact that I'm not sure that I'm dialed in yet on my fuel pressure and timing. I'm taking the car to a dyno on Saturday where hopefully I'll find a few lost ponies through some tuning. Hopefully with the right weather and proper tuning I'll see some slips that start with 12.xx
For some comparision, I have gone 13.15 on 6/28 and 13.21 on 7/12 during the Corvette Challenge events. The 60's were about 1.82, I think 12's are within your reach during the fall season.
Hey Vic, yes it was at Atco. It seemed a bit cooler than it has been recently, but still less than ideal. I'll definitly be at the next event. BTW, I'll also have an air pump eliminator installed by then so I'll be curious to see if that makes a difference.
Do to the lack of good tracks in CA (land too expensive) I've never been to the strip with my '87 but from what I see, your 60' times are KILLER for the mods you have. The hole shot is my claim-to-fame as well, with the 405 ftlbs starting below 2000 RPM having more to do with that than my driving skill however. Until the state of CA realizes that we need a place to race, I'll just keep doing it one stop light at a time. Wish the kids in their ricers would stay out of the way though.
Vic, I don't have any idea about the DA. Atco does normally give temp, humidity and barometer readings on their time slips, but unfortunately all read "0" that night.
