Solid Top Moulding removal

Solid Top Moulding removal
We are getting ready to paint the solid top on the 86 and can't seem to figure out how to get the mouldng off the panel. We don't really want to just mask it off because that usually looks crummy when done (at least by us anyway).
Are there screws under the weatherstripping or something? The GM book is not much help here. Both the 86 and 90 books are pretty vague on this subject.

I believe it SHOULD just pop off, but wait for a definate answer from someone who knows for sure. I know mine moves around quite a bit so I don't think it's actually fastened to anything. :cheers:

There wasn't anything holding mine on - give'er a good pull and see what happens!
BTW I had mine coated (HPC, Jet Hot and others do this) with a semi-gloss black coating and it looks great again. :thumbs:

It came off Ok with a lot of pulling. Cool! I was afraid to just start yankin' on it and break something (like usual)
It is now primed and awaiting color coat and clear.
