1.6 rr?
For those of you with L98's can you fit 1.6 roller rockers under the stock valve covers or do you have to have tall valve covers to make them fit? Also are there major differences between the 1.5's and 1.6's?

If you have a late '86 with Al heads use 1.6s on int/exh; you will need to cut the drip tabs and narrow the bolt bosses.
If an early '86 with iron heads use 1.6/1.5 on int/exh (you may need to open the heads so the 1.6s don't bind); not sure about valve cover fit.
The 1.6s are worth about 5-10hp over 1.5s.

I have a '90, alum heads. Grind off dripers & narrow bolt channels, no other problems after 2 years. Also polished exterior of alum covers while they were off. Couldn't believe how many layers of paint GM applied, major pita.
