F1R on L-98?
It is now tuned via FAST and I have adapted a new forced induction. Many of you have watched as I moved from the old P-600B to the D-1 on yellow, while setting up a D2R on red (must use aftermarket hood). Well it was time to upgrade yellow (why not???), so I stepped up to the F-1R. ATI makes it very clear that this will not fit under the hood, nor in any way within the confines of the wheelwell. It simply will not fit. Well, It will fit! All custom brackets, they have nothing for this application. It fits with less than 0.25" off the valvecover. It makes boost by 3000 rpm (remember I have huge heads/cam - AFR 220 and CC solid roller ~0.650") and will max the impellor at 6400 rpm (14.6 psi). The FAST system was definitly worthwhile (and required) for mounting something like this. And yes, I do still run the 6 rib, but in excess of 300 degrees wrap on the blower pulley. Hardly a hint of dust after several months.
Now let me see if I can get those pics uploaded. I am quite pleased with my dimensia.

BTW, did you wind up using an '89 hood prop on the passenger side to mount the D-1R, and are you still using the flat idler mounted on the alternator stud. I had seen other examples, and was familiar with the way that a D-1 mounts on an L-98 C-4, but did not like the fact that this way only allowed ~250 degrees of belt wrap. With the revision (seperate mount for a guided idler and the F-1R, I stepped from an 87.1" belt to a 95.6" belt. Everything for the blower mounting has a very specific order for installation, as all is very tight.
I also changed from the old sheetmetal ATI IC to a Spearco like the dimensions I had given you from my '89. At the same time I finally replaced the factory radiator with a Griffin (I did see a 15-20 degree drop in daytime TX temps).
How do you like the new D-1R? I have not had any issues with any of the ATI units that I have purchased. They work well for me. I keep getting hasseled about needing to take it to the track again, but the old timeslip from several iterations back still stands as my best (10.64 @ 138 mph). Have you had a chance to test yours at the track or dyno? I find it easier to take to the dyno these days, as there is a dyno close to the house, vs HRP (62 miles away).
I am having some issues with the scanner and hope to have the pics up soon. My son returns home today, so I'm sure he will be able to help (at 14 he runs circles around his dad on computer stuff). He also is getting quite proficient at tuning the FAST unit. Wonder wher that will lead.
