How can I make WOT pull harder?
I'm like this close to getting tunercat (sold my HPP+), mainly to play with tcc lockup but if I brought my WOT air/fuel ratio to something like 12.2:1 with tunercat (I've heard GM stock ratio for WOT is about 10.7:1) would that give me some more pull at WOT? Stock engine. '95 model. I understand you don't want to go leaner than about 12.7:1 @ WOT or you risk cooking valves, etc., but does that safety ceiling still hold true if you not running headers (stock manifolds...will the stock back pressure let you lean it out more)?

A little higher stall TC will give you more torque on down shift into 1st gear and a shift kit will put more snap into the resultant up shift.
Also 1.6:1 RRs will put a little more HP under the clam as will some exhaust work.
When my L98 was on the dyno the operator said the 12.6:1 WOT A/F ratio was about perfect.
Try the spare & jack delete and run with 1/3-1/2 tank of fuel for a very noticeable weight reduction.
If you drop the hammer at say 25-30mph the nose should come up and maybe a little chirp.
