Last time I messed with my distributor, about a month ago, I inadvertantly unplugged the egr diagnostic switch. It's got one wire coming off of it and I have no idea where it plugs into. I tried to find a place for it, but ended up just leaving it unplugged. Even the guys at the chevy dealership didn't know. It wasn't throwing any codes at first, but I get an intermittent code 32, for the egr system and my scan tool specifically said it was thrown because of the diag switch. Do any of you guys know where it plugs into and can maybe post a pic? Thanks
Chris
On the passenger side there is a tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold. In that tube is a sensor, shouldn't be hard to miss. I believe that is the sensor you need to plug back in.
Dammit, didn't comprehend the post correctly the first time I read it, please disregard what I have typed above. 65z01 provided the needed information.
There is a thick harness that runs over the bell housing; a short pigtail comes from that harness with the connector you seek.
It will be much easier to locate if you pull the dist as the connector is pretty well obscured otherwise. In fact when I have my intake base off I spliced a lenght of wire and moved that connector up to the right of the dist for easy access.
I have to pull the distributor to get to it? I guess I'll just live with the occasional code till I have to pull the distributor off for another reason.
I appreciate the help. Since the code only shows up once every couple weeks, I'm going to just ignore it till I have the intake apart for one reason or another. Is this a good reason to get a super-ram? Well, here I go again with "might as well" projects.....
