The only minus is if you drive it in the winter, it's probably not necessary but I've heard it helps warm the air faster and keep the throttle from sticking. Whatever. :rolleyes:
You don't have to cut anything for your LT-1, and you can put it back for the winter if you want to. Just go to the hardware store and buy to threaded pipe plugs of the appropriate size. DONE! Now you'll have cooling intake temps. Couple that with a "fan" temp modification and you'll be running cool :cheers:
Thats one free mod I need to do. Ive seen post from a guy who dynoed and saw a 5-6 hp gain. Either way anything that can help your car run cooler is fine in my book...
