It prevents hot coolant from circulating through the TB and makes for simpler TB removal since the hoses no longer to it.
The down side is that you have to cut one coolant hose (on an L98) and buy a U shaped piece of hose along with a plastic splice and two hose clamps.

The only minus is if you drive it in the winter, it's probably not necessary but I've heard it helps warm the air faster and keep the throttle from sticking. Whatever. :rolleyes:
You don't have to cut anything for your LT-1, and you can put it back for the winter if you want to. Just go to the hardware store and buy to threaded pipe plugs of the appropriate size. Pull off the hoses and plug 'em. Check this procedure out from the C4 tech tips section:

DONE! Now you'll have cooling intake temps. Couple that with a "fan" temp modification and you'll be running cool :cheers:

Thats one free mod I need to do. Ive seen post from a guy who dynoed and saw a 5-6 hp gain. Either way anything that can help your car run cooler is fine in my book...
