I've read some guys talk about upgrading to a 2 BAR MAP sensor for forced induction Vettes. Is such an install possible and what is the upgrade process? Do I only need to modify my PCM maps to reflect the lower MAP readings at partial throttle and tune for 1+ bar WOT?
Also does anyone have the part # if it's a straight bolt-on or easy install.
Re: 2 Bar MAP sensor conversion on Vette? (XTwinTurbo)
The Accel part # for a 2 bar is 74776 you can get one through GM don't remember the number for it. You will have to cut a slot in the connector to plug your harness into it. Yes you will need to reprogram the ecm.
Are you trying to run a forced induction on the 1 bar??
Re: 2 Bar MAP sensor conversion on Vette? (black bart)
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm running a Vortech supercharger off of stock sensor. I've also eliminated the FMU and have been programming PCM for WOT and larger injectors.

You are :banghead: Not possible to tune a 1bar for pressure
Get a 2 bar then try to tune it then you will be :)
Re: 2 Bar MAP sensor conversion on Vette? (black bart)
Some posts on the CamaroZ28 forum mention that the conversion is not possible on without changing out the computer. They mention that LT1Edit or Tunercat do not have the granulation to modify all maps the cars use and there is embedded programming that we cannot modify.
BlackBart, have you done this mod? Has anyone heard of this mod being done and the car still runs well using stock PCM or computer?

[/QUOTE] No I missed out on the joys of burning chips. I have always used a DFI system. The stock ecm is limited as to how much power you can tune for the DFI has no such issues.

I looked into this a while ago and cant remember the specifics, but I found plenty of info at thirdgen.org. Im not sure if thats the camaro site your refering to, but give it a try.
