I have a 94 coupe. Tranny has been rebuilt last wk...no good but that is another issue...I have noticed that the ac is staying on in the off position. cool air coming from around my feet and def. No where else. I feel it is the switch..Is this normal ?? anything other that the switch? :mad
Try running the codes on your air conditioner. To do this:
Push both fan buttons (the ones with the down and up icons) for four seconds and release. -00 will appear. Now, push the auto button. If any codes are present, they will be displayed.
To discern the meaning of codes, check your service manual, or try it out and get back to me - I'll tell you what they mean.
If there arent any codes, try disconnecting the battery for fifteen seconds.
This sounds VERY familiar! In fact....I'll bet ya $1 your cruise control has stopped working too! Before ya go spending big bucks...there's a plastic vacuum check/distribution valve under the passenger side fuel rail cover that i'll bet'cha has cracked. I don't have the part number with me...but it's a $5 fix for what seems like a $500 problem! ;)
I tried to pull the codes but I think that is with the auto temp version of the ac. There is no auto button or read out...
As for cking the valve/dist under the fuel rail I did a visual and it looked ok. I did try and blow and suck thru the valve and it is free flowing.. Is this a ck valve or just a splitter... Where is the crack inside or outside? Also does anyone know where these lines go? are they near where the auto tran being pulled could have crimped, cut or pulled loose on the other end? THanks. Terry
