a friend of mine is selling his Vette and hes removing the performance items from it and selling them as well. one of the things hes parting out is an unused Lingenfelter 74211 camshaft. now, i know all about the 219 cam and how its designed to work with the Superram, but i dont see many people using the LTR designed 211 cam. anyone running this part and have anything to say about it? track improvements and dyno runs would be much appreciated
I've heard from someone that it does give a nice gain and work well with the large tube runners. One thing I wonder is for those of us who THINK we MIGHT switch over to a SR should we go ahead and put in a 219 cam? I mean will you actually lose power by "overcamming" or will I just have a lumpier idle and a little less drivability with no gain over a 211 cam until I get a SR? TIA
I run a 74211 LPE cam in my 355 c.i. L-98 race engine with AFR 190 heads, LPE super ram, 52 mm TB and TPIS headers. The engine makes 400 hp at 4800 rpm but more importantly it makes 500 ft lb of torque at 4000 rpm.
I have more than 350 ft lb of torque from 2000 to 4800 rpm. On the track I run 3rd and 4th only even in the slowest corners. If I try 2nd I smoke the race tires with lots of power oversteer. Cam works for me.
