Looking for a new set for the new car. Looking for something better than stock. What do you guys suggest? I know Koni and Blisten make good ones. Any opinions on which suit the C4s better? I have an '89 auto.
Thanks,
Christ
If your 89 has the FX3 option, get those shocks. Otherwise I would get Z51 shocks.
For the 84s, they came with Bilstein's stock and shocks do wear over time alot. The ones in my 86 Z51 are not getting any better. But, if i had an 84, Id do my best to soften up that ride by going with the Edelbrocks or a soft el-cheapo model. The Gatorbacks are also crap, and youll notice your ride improve ALOT by just changing to a better (but usually more expensive) tire and maintaining a good 35psi in all 4.
Of course, you can all call Bilstein and have a set custom-valved for ride vs. handling characteristics.
I have heard the FE1 spring (soft ride) in the rear with the Z51 Bilstein is about as good as it gets for a C4 if you want good handling and ride quality both! That is what I have and I love it!
