I searched the archives to no help I know some of you guys get your hands dirty and someone has to know what I'm talking about,
after the hell at that glass shop I'll be damned if I would take the car back there, :nono: but now the passenger side door doesn't close right, as it did before the glass shop, I have to slam it harder than before and harder than the drivers door to get it fully closed, it just gets to the point of latched but not fully closed.... the problem is the when the window is up the top edge is in to far and hits the weather strip too soon I pulled the door panel since I have adjusted my c3 glass, the two anti rattle fuzzies look good, my car has the later style regulators and it appears there are two bolts that hold the regulator on the top inner door edge and two on the bottom under edge, but I can't find what really adjusts the in and out of the top edge of the glass when it's fully up....someone has to know what I'm talking about, Please.....
Thanx, C.
Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
Damnit it has been so long since I've had mine apart...
Wait let me check the Corvette Bible at least for 1994.
Okay grabbed this off of page 10-6-13
There is a trouble shooting guide: here we go
Excessive force needed to clase door with window raised
CAUSE:
Window tip in out of adjustment
REPAIR: 1. Scribe position of upper regulator mounting bolts to door for reference
2. Loosen upper regulator bolts and rear stablaizer guide (this is found in the rear end of the door, it will have one bolt going through it and the bolt is point directly to the front of the car)
3. Move regulator in or out to correct the condition
4. When it is corrected tighten regulator and re-set stabilizer.
I'm glad I checked. I've done tons of Camaros and the have a roller to tip them in. I hope this helps.
Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
it should be the little fuzzy pads that do that and or the window motor track assembly as well...my 89 which i just put the glass in has the top two holes for the track assembly slotted for in and out as well as the little fuzzy pads...between the two of them it should get you the in and out adjustment..as far as up and down front and rear thats a whole nother story..i know i just spent about an hour getting my right one to line up after the new door was put on... try ...try and try again..but worth it in the end :D
Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
Thanks for the extra info I plan to go look at that bolt I missed on the end of the door,
on the anti-rattles, are they really suppose to ever push really hard on the glass, I mean you will see older glass that they leave marks on, I was thinking they were suppose to be just sug enough to keep the glass from "rattling" and that the true adjustments should come from the track angle, but hey I'm just guessing this is new to me,,,,
thanx,

Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
you are correct...i would definately try to use the slots on the track assembly first to get the window to go where it is suppossed to..then snug up the fuzzzy pads ..
Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
Here's an extensive one I did on door and glass adjustment a few months back. I tried to post it in tech tips, but for some reason it wouldn't show up in there. Here's the link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=467278
BTW my doors are still closing perfectly and the side windows are leak-free. Good Luck!

Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
Thanx for the wonderful tech,
in my case the door is hanging right in fact this issue didn't start until my cars bout with the glass shop from hell,
the issue is the top edge tilts in too far, I screwed with it today until I made myself sick, no matter where I put that top adjustment bolts for the track/regulator it still was tilted out too far, I looked down in there and noticed washers where the glass bolts on could these be in the wrong places making them shims so to speak, keeping me from getting the tilt right?
other though if the regulator is badly worn could it be causing this even though it wasn't doing it before the glass replacment .....
thanx, c.

Re: Window adjustment help part deux..... (The13Bats)
Do you know about the 10mm bolt in the back of the door (near the door handle) That one screw, once loosened will allow the inboard/outboard adjustment you want. Then adjust your felt pads.
