Here's what i want to do: you know those a-holes that automatically have to mess with you because you drive a vette, so they hit you with high beams when you pass..... well beam them back, i want to take one of the inside brake light lenses off and put in a clear one, and disconnect it so it dosn't light until i hit the switch i will put somewhere on my console, and i want to put a VERY bright bulb in it so when i blow past them i can zap 'em!!
Yeah...something we all feel like doing, BUT DON'T!!
It's illegal, dangerous to the other driver and comes under the category of "Road Rage". Corvette drivers are suppose to be one step above all that.
....besides, just go by them fast enough and loud enough that you're way ahead of them before they can react and hit the high-beams. THAT'S what Corvettes are for.

If this happens to you more than once in a rare while, then it's not the other drivers with the problem.
If you're serious about the rear light, then that pretty much proves it.
You don't have to be a cop to know when something is stupid and irresponsible. Maybe you guys need to get some ricers instead. That's something those guys would do.

What is up with that?!?
I'm a very conscientious driver; I do it for a living. It is laughable the number of people that want to mess with a Vette! I wouldn't install a F#*K YOU! light in the bumper...but I understand. :seeya

Re: 3rd high beam???? in the back (89stock)
Isn't this the same post you posted in C4 Gen? Just curious.
As I mentioned there, I have never experienced it and it is possible your headlights are mis-aligned causing people to think you are brighting them.
I agree with those who say that reacting with a special light is dangerous. But there are places to get super high power European driving lights. Just don't flash me!

I think the best cure for tailgaters is that pedal on the right side.
What reallly pisses me off, is these people in their automatics that keep creeping up on you until they're practically touching your car when you're stopped in a intersection, on a hill, or any sort of incline. WTF?? I'm one of the 8% who drive a stick shift you a-hole! Are you trying to see your reflection in the back of my vette or what? I should quit waxing it.
My Ford has a windshield squirter that's misaligned, and it sprays the car next to me, doesn't even touch my windshield. THat's come in handy before.
Usually in my vette, I try to move the mirrors out to reflect their light back at em.
Central Coaster....I'm with you man. These idiots come up so close I sometimes brace for impact! A real PITA on hills especially. I don't know what it is about Vettes that makes people want to mess with you.
My idea consists of
1)hatch vents
2)super soakers
3) remote control
4) 5 beers
Buy those hatch vents that raise the hatch an inch or 2, hook up the super soaker so that it can be powered from the driver's seat with remote control. Drink 5 beers, fill up the super soakers, and wait till you are sober! :jester

Com'on guys. Grow up!
If someone doesn't touch you or your car, you have no reason to be angry. It's not your private world out there. Us Vette drivers aren't other driver's daddy's. We have no right to teach anyone anything. Just get away from these people and forget it!

BIG JIM
I do believe that everyone is just venting. And yes, even if someone doesn't touch your car, that doesn't mean that they did not come very close to killing both you and themselves. The few times that that has happened to me, I was very upset. Believe me if I would have sprayed their car with recycled beer, it would have been nothing compared to my brain matter spattered all over the concrete barricade. Venting is therapeutic, it makes us feel better. Kind of like Prozac, but w/o the side effects. :)
