I was speaking to a friend of mine who builds Chevy wiring harnesses.Told him i wanted to upgrade my driving lights to piaa lights.I would Take the stock driving lighs out and i need a harness and relay system so i can use stock switch.I dont want to cut up my harness and the stock harness would not support the amps needed for the brighter lighting system. Would any of you be interested in this. This will be a upgrade not a hack job it will look professional. This will be for the plugin harness not for the lights. We will be using GM connectors. These are th lights im going to use.

These are the specs on the lights I'm going to be using for the test harness We will not be suppying lights Just the harness that plugs into the stock Harness
The cost should be pretty low I just wanted to see if we needed to consider making more than one .The lights below use a standard H3 headlight bulb.

Re: Idea driving lights upgrade anyone Interested? (crash1mac)
I just replaced the stock bulbs with a 55 watt halogen from auto-zone been using it like that for the past four years with no problems you just need to install a little bigger fuse. This has been posted several times do a search

I'm interested too. I hate using my headlights more than I have to.
Were you expecting to mount these lights in the bumper, beneath the lenses?
I think it'd really be cool to have two settings on em, so you could control it with the hi-beam switch. Then you could run in the daytime (with headlights down) bright or dim, and at night - bright as hell with no other cars around, and dim with lowbeams on, since they'd probably blind oncoming traffic otherwise. I know I'm asking too much. :D
Re: Idea driving lights upgrade anyone Interested? (CentralCoaster)
The guy who will builds them already is a supporting vendor .I have a few ideas on mounting i was going to remove the lens and everything work out a mount and maybe convert to a three wire turn signal for automatic daytime running lights.
Re: Idea driving lights upgrade anyone Interested? (Mr Mojo)
Just note that in order to sell them here, you will need to cantact Troy or Bigtoe about becoming a supporting vendor.
Or post about it here and have everyone email you.
FWIW the stock housings hold both the turn signal and driving lights. Are you going to just cut the driving light part out and rework the PIAAs into it?
