Output shaft bushing advice
I was wondering if anybody would be able to recommend either a reputable shop in the Northern NJ area for working on my driveshaft or a fix to the problem that follows. I own a 1996 corvette with an LT4 and a ZF - 6 speed manual transmission. I have a vibration which I suspect to be from the driveshaft when the car is at around 70MPH. So far my first attempt at tackling this problem was to remove the driveshaft, replace the output shaft bushing, have the driveshaft balanced, and reinstall it. That did not work so I did the same thing again, but this time I replaced the slip yoke as well. Currently the vibration is almost nonexistant, but the yoke is so tight in the bushing, that it is causing the transmission to get overheat. I am thinking of trying to dissassemble it again, but I don't have much hope in that as I have tried it twice already. I was wondering if somebody could recommend a shop that I could take the car to to work on it or a fix for the problem. A shop which has Vertronix balancing equipment would be ideal because the shaft could be balanced on the car which I believe would solve the problem.
