Default some question about the L98 internals.

This winter im going to take the engine out and rebuild it with new bearings etc etc.
Now when I have the engine out I whant to build it a bit stronger.
What parts would you recomend to swap?
What kind of pistons and rings should I put in?¨
Should I change the crank and piston rods also? How strong are the stock rods?
I whant to be abel to run nitors later, and thats why I whant change the pistons to stronger ones.
Im also going to hone the block etc etc.
I hope you can help me :)

Thanks

This is one of those "wayyyyy too broad" of a questions to answer without knowing what your plans for the engine are. Street? Circle track? Garage queen? Nitrous? Turbocharger? Supercharger?

hm... 383 would rock.

I think with N2O you would want forged pistons...

Forged pistons and rods, a forged crank if you want the MR and really want to spin it and race it, clevite 77 bearings....

No need for a forged crank really. Heck the SCAT 9000 cast cranks are good for 600 HP all day long. If he wants on fine, but it is the last thing in the rotating assembly that "needs" to be forged.

I dont think he needs one either; Ive never heard of someone snapping a crank in half except in NHRA.

But if i was doing the MR, then racing it or wanting it to rev really high, id think hard about it.

lets give you some more info :)

My goal is a looow 12sec 350/383 N/A, and 11s with NOS. A highway warrior.
The cam of choise is cc 306.
Lt1 intake or miniram.
AFR heads.
I what the car to reeve to 6500rpm ( not long hehe, but just that I can ).
I whant the car to be abel to take some abuse in form of NOS or mayby a supersharger later.
That brings me to the next question, if I keep it a 350 what compression, if I have a supercharger in the future?

Is the stock rods to weak for my app?
My thoughts where "just" to change the pistons and all the bearings.
I will also make the engine internal balanced.

I whant the car more to be abel to smoke that ferrari on the highway then kick that mustang at the red light. ( but both would be nice )

Help me here to get this right the first time.

Thanks
