engine temp. gauge sensor
Hi guys, my engine temp. gauge (anolog) does not work. and I found a small sensor hanging on the pass. side of the engine. The sensor looks all distorted. Could this the engine temp. sensor and if it is where does it connect . Also if anyone has a pic. of this sensor please include it (just to make sure we are talking about the same thing)

On the block between cylinders 6 and 8, you will see a bolt with an electrical spade connector on it. This is the temperature sender for the temperature gauge. Your loose wire should plug onto the spade connector.

The sensor screws into the block. You will have to lower the antifreeze level below the sensor and unscrew the sensor with a socket wrench and install a new sensor.
