Default Not that I use it but...

My speedometer is cutting out on me every once in a while. It will work fine, then just read zero for a while, then it comes back. I have a feeling it is the speed sensor or speed sensor sending unit and my guess is that it is on the transmission somewhere. My 94 six speed has 84,000 miles on it now and I recently replaced the back up light switch because it was broken when I bought the car. Anyone had this problem before and fixed it? Would you agree that it is the speed sensor, and if so how hard is it to replace? Thanks. :steering:

I think that if it were the VSS signal the instentaneous mileage would also go to zero as the injectors would be firing with no sensed motion.
