Does anyone have contact info for Bilstein? Either phone or e-mail? Looking to have my FX3 shocks revalved, tired of peeing blood after every ride. :banghead:
You send them to the guys in Poway. They are great. BUT - bilstien shipping stinks. they don't put any packing in with their shocks. I have had two come damaged. (FX03)
Try 1-800-537-1085. This is in San Diego. Ask for Bill Hindorf in tech support.
Are you wanting to go stock valving or harder? The have what is called "Morroco" valving that is a autocross/track valving that costs more than the stock rebuilding.
My FX3 setup on my 92 is pretty soft in the tour setting. The Performance setting is stiff but not to the point where you get beat up unless the roads are bad. The controller also looks at vehicle speed to change stiffness at each of the switch settings so I don't see too much of a difference between Sport and Pref at speeds below 40 MPH. Do you have the OEM prom in the controller? IS the spring the FE1 spring or an upgrade? Either Dick Guildstrand or Doug Rippie has proms that will stiffen the system even more if you want extra control.
Thanks for the replies, I guess I should add a little more intel. :skep: My car didn't originally come with the FX3 option. In a moment of self abuse I decided to add it. At this time I still need to finish the wiring harness. I also went the route of coil overs from DRM. When I orginally ordered the kit from DRM I specified a valving slightly stiffer than stock in the Performance setting. Well after drving the car from the port in Baltimore to Omaha I deduced the the shocks must have been valved with the race set up. Like I said I don't have the harness completed yet, I set each shock to it mid point. I did speak with someone at Bilstein back in Feb but lost his name and number hence the original post. Again from my conversations with the Bilstein rep I believe my shocks are valved much harder than I want. I plan on sending them back to them for the Weekend auto cross valving which is supposed to be a step up from stock. I'm looking for a ride I can tolerate in Tour while having a bit of better control in Performance.
