Default 1986 4+3 - How can I lock out 1st OD?

I am looking for a quick fix to eliminate the OD function in 1st gear...I have spilled far too many coffees....I still want the unit to perfrom as intended in 2nd, 3rd and 4th...so I don't want a switch-able solution such as the one in the tech tips section.

Thanks

Overdrive shouldn't engage in first gear, if the first gear switch works.

Actually, it does in one case, when you're decellerating from 2nd+OD. I think this feature is actually to prevent you from spilling coffee!

1986 is the only year that does not have a 1st gear switch on the side of the transmission. The only time you "shhould" see OD in 1st is when downshifting while OD was already engaged. It should then go out under any throttle or if you get below 4mph.

Mine is staying in OD (1st gear) until a split second AFTER I stop. I can coast at 1 mph and it will stay in OD if I have come from 2nd OD. In fact, it will default back into OD when I start up again then downshift in first...hence the coffee problem..can I adjust something?
