Whenever I put my headlights on, the right headlight struggles to go up.
Sometimes I have to try 2 or 3 times before it goes up.
Is there something I could "grease" it with to prevent farther damage or to make it go up better?
Thanks,
VET 350

sounds like it's time for a bushing kit to be installed in the headlight motors..theya re like 10 bucks for both sides through ecklers and such...worked wonders on my 89

Would it hurt to ignore the problem and just keep using it as long as it comes up for me? I guess what I'm trying to ask is, Am I damaging anything if I keep on turning them off and on until they both are up?
Re: My right headlight is struggling..... (VET 350)
IF your problem is brushes then yes it will cause further damage. The problem is poor electrical contact which generates HEAT in the brushes and plastic brush housings. They will melt and then you have to replace the housings or whole motor instead of just cleaning everything up. In my case the housing had just started to melt which prevented the brushes from firmly contacting the armature. I was able to clean them up with fine sandpaper and they are still working fine.
Good luck.

look if its the brushes you will be able to use the manual ***** to get them up.... if it's the bushings they will still not go up right and may "fall" down before catching and then going up...if they fall down if ya hit a bump like railroad tracks or anything like that it's definately the bushings... i myself would try the 4 dollar bushings good luck

I agree with 89red. Go ahead and take them apart. If you find the bushings are bad just replace them and you are done. If not, then it's into the motor. Either way you will have it fixed. Did you read on my thread that mine would work if I gave them a start with the ****? Will yours do that?
