I have not been on the Fourm recently and I know some of you have been waiting to see how my reverse split duration cam runs compared to my old standard split duration cam. I never did get the car dynoed and I apologize. I bought a new H2 Hummer and that is where my interest has been recently. The Vette still is running absolutely awesome with the new cam with no issues. I really think I have my cake and I'm eating it also with the Torque of the Super Ram and the top end of a Miniram. Hopefully soon I will get the comparison.
Glad to see your 396 is running the way you want it to, Jason. I'm surprised that more people on this forum haven't done minor mods to their Super Rams like you did. A dyno run of your new combo will be very interesting. I'm interested to know how accurately I modelled your Random Tech cats in the header collectors.
Yes Rodney you are right. I really feel we have hit on something here and that is why I need to go to the dyno. For those still reading this thread, Rodney designed a very unique cam profile for me that I had Crane Cams grind. Its a reverse dual pattern cam with more intake lift and duration and less exhaust. Rodney developed a software program that calculates the optimum profile based upon your particular motor. This is also based on what parameters you give him such as mid range, top end, etc. I told him to make it the quickest in a third gear accel. He will plot your HP and TQ so you see where the difference is. In my case, he suggested I shorten the Super Ram runners by 1.5". When he first gave me my cam specs I thought I wasted my money because the pattern was opposite of what I ever knew. Rodney convinced me this was the way to go and man I am happy I did. Banging gears in a Super Ram car at 6400 is sweet (even if the tires keep spinning)!
Corvette0096.....The H2 is one AWESOME piece of machinery. I love Vettes as much as everyone on this list but the H2 is one Bad Azz ride! All it needs is about 150 more HP! I see your running 12.5's
