I know this is going to be a strange post. While trying to find a leak on my PS, I found a bolt wedged up in the A frame that is just like the one that the short T-50 trox that's in the alt. Only thing is, mines still there. Anyone have any idea if there's another one just like it and where it's SUPPOSE to be?
There is a Torx bolt in the alternator????? I don't remember that from my old 94, thought it was a 13mm?
Actually there's two on mine. There's the short one that is on the top close to the throttle body and there's a longer one with a nut on it, that allows it the alt. to "swing" close to the A/C compressor. The reason I asked the question was the only place I've seen a bolt like this is in the alt. and mines still there. I don't think a T-50 bolt is just something you'd have laying around. That's why I was wonder if it might be from some place else I'm not aware of?
I have the front of my engine disassembled right now replacing the water pump and prepping for a Dynaspark. I went outside to check, and I have only two T50's. One is 4 inches, the other is 1.25. Both came from the alternator. Almost certainly left over from a dealer alternator replacement. Who else would have a T50 on hand?
Well more than likely it was there since my motor rebuild. The weird thing is, that means it's been riding between the A-frame and the frame since the rebuild. 8000 miles! It's not like it was wedged in there. I just pushed it up over and out.
