I just bought some black 99 wheels and I want to put them on my red 94 coupe. When I looked at recommended tires for them (F- 245/45-17 & R- 275/40-18) the OD's are different from my current tires. The current tires are 26.1 & 26" OD but the new standards are 25.8 & 26.7".
Questions:
1. Should I go with a 275/35-18 for the 99 rears (OD 25.7) to match the fronts, or
2. Are these differences too small to affect speedometer, etc.
You can correct for non-stock wheel/tire combinations with a Hypertech Power Programmer(HPP). As an added bonus you can use the HPP to set the fans to come on at lower temperatures.
How wide are those front rims? If I did this, I'd want 17" rims all around, and 275ZR17's on the back, nothing slimmer. I doubt this is possible, but what do you think?
