It controls all the functions of the dash. the converts the data for the LCD display on the dash. It controls all the accessory stuff, like the AC configuration, Courtesy light delay and mileage.

The mileage is stored in the CCM and if replaced needs to be programmed within 100 miles or all the functions will not work.

It is located behind the Radio controls, but the best way to get to it is drop the Driver side hush panel and metal panel, there is a trap door on the console side to get to it.

Buried behind and slightly below the radio, on my '96. It handles everything that the PCM doesn't handle... mainly everything besides engine stuff. Interior lights, door ajar switches, alarm, some dash lights, etc.

Not sure ont he Horn, but the dealer is the only place I know of to get them programmed. You cannot reprogram them.. just program the replacement

I think the Tech-1 is needed to program a new CCM. Usually only the dealer has this equipment.

The CCM can sound the horn (as part of the alarm), but other than that, they should be unrelated.

Thanks. I damanged this once before and they symptoms were the horn would not honk (alarm would work though) and the interior lights would not shut off properly. All these funtioned normally after replacement. Well the folks that were working on my stereo system tapped a hot wire and all these symptoms are back. I didn't want to pay them to install this for me, the dealer here is too pricy for thier service.

Thanks again for the comments.

Eric
