I blew my bottom radiator hose on friday and Ugh had to replace it. It was just a small tear about 1/4 inch long. But based on little bits of coolant here and there on my drip pan I assume it may have been around for quite a while, just didn't rear its ugly head.
Got it replaced and WOW what a difference in the temps. at least a 20 degree difference in traffic temps. I guess It was small enough to just seep and let air into the system. I really never had to add coolant seemed it was always full.
Now with the small leak fixed and the new 185 fan switch traffic temps rarely have gone over 210 even with 108 ambient desert degrees. Used to run 230-240 degrees.
All for a pinhole. Go figure. :steering:
Mojo------I feel punished enough. I swear I will never drive another C5! (and tell about it anyway) :seeya

Re: Cooling problem finally solved (Southern Comfort)
yes..cooler is better out here.... :reddevil
:iagree: You're so right! After my yearly ritual of cleaning out the crap in front and within the radiator, average temp dropped 20~30 degrees! You've heard my right. Now it's around 210 whereas before in traffic it was around 230~240 yikes!
