Default Blue smoke ( part 2 )

If you remember I told you that after cam change I have blue smoke from
exhaust.
Here is the link so you can see all that I've done:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=625679

But what I didn't tell you is that I've installed air breathers on
valve covers and pluged the holes in intake where hoses used to go.

Could this cause blue smoke on startup.

I'll try to put this back as it was before. I think that PCV valve was
on driver side of engine, right???

Yes it is on the right (drivers) side...not sure if that would be the problem or not. Did you change anything else besides the cam?(sorry I didn't read the other post). Could be valve guides. Good Luck!

You said in the other post that you only have 1 or 2 hours on it since the work. Dosen't seem like enough time to burn off the excess oil, lube, etc. IMHO. Run it for a little while and monitor the exhaust. I don't know if crankcase breathers vs. PVC would have any affect. Someone else might.

After reading the first post and now this one.... To answer your questions, No I don't believe that PCV vs. breathers would create a situation which would encourage the oil to get into the combustion chamber.

Why did you go to breathers? PCV is better because of the slight negative pressure. Cleaner too.

I agree with the bulk of the responses from the first post about valve guide seals or the guides. 16000 miles on the heads is very new to have guide failure, but it could be the seals.

Give it a month.
