Default thermal time delay

The thermal time delay is located just to the passenger side of the coolant temp sensor, under the throttle body. It mounts to the metal plate that the fuel lines are attached to. The connector is slightly larger and resembles those used on the injectors. I found the name of it in my Helms manual, but cannot find what it is for, etc. Can anyone help me with this one?

The thermal time delay you speak of is for the Cold Start Injector, only allows the injector to operate for a short time when the engine is cold. I don't know the parameters, just got home and still trying to find out where I am.

Okay, here is more info on the thermal delay switch. This switch is set up indepentent of the ECM and activates the cold start injector for up to 8 seconds at coolant temps below 95 deg F. The full 8 seconds being at -20 deg F. The time frame is regulated by either electrical heating or thermally via the engine coolant. The switch will activate for 1 second at 95 deg F. The cold start injector was deleted on 89 and up models with additional port injector pulse time providing the same cold start enrichment. Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you so much. That's what I needed. I've gone and looked up cold start injector in the manual and am headed to the garage.
