Where is the "Audio Relay"?

Where is the "Audio Relay"?
My sound system seems to cut off about anytime and stays off for about 2 minutes and then come back on and plays great. Dr. Dons says it is probably my Audio Relay.
Anyone know where that is? TIA :cheers:

Well, I've got a 96 with the non-Bose stereo but my factory manual states that the "Bose Relay" is located in the "RH Cargo Compartment in storage compartment, taped to Front Body Harness". According to the illustration, it looks to be the passenger side storage bin up against that front panel that separates the compartment from the car interior proper (to the LH side of the hole that the wiring harness passes through). Hope that helps...

In where the tire jack is - lift out the plastic bin in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. If it will help, I can scan email the illustration to you...

I just checked in there but there seems to be no wire harness.
My jack is with the spare tire. I would say that your 96 is way different. 11 years can make a big difference where relays are....lol a week makes a difference on this car.

Well, I emailed a pic to you at the address in your profile. In mine, the receiver part of the radio is also in there which has connections for the speakers which come off the same harness as the Bose relay is supposed to. I was going to suggest that if the receiver for your radio is also back there, you try to trace the speaker wires with your fingers to where it connects to the harness. The Bose relay should be in the neighborhood....

Remove radio & climate control panel. amp relay is behind i/p & to the right of radio.
it is way in the back & you need small hands. held in place by 2 screws.
4 wires pink. orange. black. & pink with black tracer. your problem could be just a loose
connector. If you find you have fu relay I have a spare one.

Tobijohn is talking about his 96, you have an 85. ALWAYS include the year vette you are asking help for help. Zaragoza is providing infor for an 85. All C4 models do not have components in the same location.
