I need the part # for the above for a C68 equipped '87. I can't find the part # anywhere and I used to have it. This is NOT the blower motor control resistor, that is the for the non-C68 cars.
Re: Part #? Blower Motor Control Module (scorp508)
Ok I found a post on the net from a guy with a Cadillac who needed one and GM said it was discontinued. He finally found 12484912 as a replacement. gmpartsdirect shows nothing for my P/N but does show that replacement one for $156 at GM List and $78 their cost as "module". Ugh. The last time I ordered from them the experience was horrible and I told them I'd never order from them again.
Re: Part #? Blower Motor Control Module (vetracer)
If you don't mind my asking, what does this part do? :lurk:
Controls the blower fan speed in a Electric C68 HVAC car. Mine is semi-gone and at times allows the blower fan to run when the car is OFF. Its no fun going to the car only to find a dead battery if I didn't unplug the blower fan. :(
Re: Part #? Blower Motor Control Module (scorp508)
Thanks for the reply, Scorp. I've been having a problem with my climate control fan speed slowing down/speeding up for no apparent reason. It's usually over 105 degrees here this time of year and when I set it at 60 degrees it should be blowing as hard as it can all the time because you can't get the inside temp anywhere near that cold on a hot day when the car has been sitting in the sun. Maybe this part is causing the problem... Hmmm...
Re: Part #? Blower Motor Control Module (vetracer)
Could also be your temp sensor located above the driver's head in the rollbar. There is a small grate with a sensor behind it that monitors cabin temp.
