C4 Scan Software for Diagnostic

Your profile says you have a 92 LT-1. That would be an OBD1 system. For OBD1 laptop scan tools check out the following sites:
1) Ease Simulations at http://www.easesim.com
2) Diacom at http://www.rinda.com/
3) Do-it-yourselfer EFI page at http://www.diy-efi.org/
4) Craig Moates Software at http://members.tripod.com/moatesenheimer/gmecm/
5) Cables for Craigs software available at AKM Page http://www.mindspring.com/~amattei/dss.htm
The Ease scan tool can record and playback hours of data. It will also display it in meter or chart mode as real time data you can see while driving. As a rep for Ease, I give CF members a rebate of 10% on Ease scan tools ordered from me.

The OBD2 cars have LOTS of options. OBD2 is the current Federal mandated system so it is still growing in terms of potential for the scan tool manufacturers.
Ease has an OBD2 scan tool for GM vehicles which works on the Laptop. In addition there is a generic OBD2 scan tool that works on Palm Pilots, Sony CLIEs, and Portable PCs.
Check out these OBD2 sites:
1) Ease Diagnostics at http://www.obd2.com or http://www.easesim.com
2) Autotap at http://www.autotap.com
3) AutoXray at http://www.autoxray.com
4) Alex C. Pepper's site at http://www.obd-2.com
5) Do-it-yourselfer EFI page at http://www.diy-efi.org
6) Auterra at http://www.auterraweb.com
The biggest and best competitor to Ease is AutoTap. They make a fine scan tool almost as good as the Ease tool and they are priced a bit cheaper depending on which version you get. If you consider the AutoTap tool, be sure to check out the version. AutoTap makes a generic OBD2 scan tool which is a lot cheaper that Ease, but it doesn't have GM Enhanced Powertrain specific parameters. For that you have to get the more expensive GM Enhanced Powertrain version which is closer in price to the Ease tool (still cheaper though). With the 10% rebate I provide CF members the Ease tool is just a bit more expensive and I believe worth that difference. The AutoTap is a good tool though so it is definately worth considering.
The Ease GM OBD2 scan tool will work on ALL GM OBD2 vehicles 1996-2003. You can scan C5s and LT-4s as well as Caddies, Saturns, and GMC trucks. The additional vehicle specific parameter set functionality is important to consider when shopping around. (And if you should ever consider buying a C5 or C6.)

I'm hopefully making an Ease purchase very soon. Is there any sort of deal for a ODBI/ODBII package? I've got the '87 vette and a '99 GTP and I'd like to be able to use it on both of them.

Unfortunately Ease doesn't have a personal version of a ODBI/ODBII package combination. The Pro tools version does this but the Pro combo version is way more expensive than 2 personal tools. If you did order 2 Ease personal scan tools from me I'll rebate you 12% instead of the usual 10% for one tool. If others want to join in we can have a GP and I can rebate 13% for 3 tools, 14% for 4 tools and 15% for 5+ tools. Everyone would get the same percentage on their purchase based upon the group total.
Ease does NOT offer rebates or discounts, so the rebates can only be done if all of the orders are placed directly through me. I take direct fund transfer or CC via PayPal, personal check, and wire order. All of the tools will be registered in the individual owner names with full Ease warranty and tech support. Plus you can always call me at home after-hours and I can fire up my system and answer questions. Midnight in Taxachusettes is only 9PM in the morally and financially bankrupt Peoples Republik of CA.
I have 2 used GM OBD1 tools that will be available for purchase in the next 2 weeks. One tool will have the latest version of Ease software and a used but latest version interface unit. The other tool will be my original OBD1 tool I have been using on my 88 Coupe for the last 4 years. It has an older style interface and older software. It works fine, but to upgrade it to work on WinXP requires a $150.00 upgrade of the interface unit and software, so I'll be selling the second tool much cheaper. I have 4 people who have emailed me concerning the 2 used tools and they wiill be given first right of refusal. If the first 4 do not buy the tools or none of them wants the older used tool it would work great on your 87. It can always be upgraded in the future.
One great advantage to the Ease tools is that the OBD1 & OBD2 scan tools work the same from the user perspective. Once you use the OBD1 tool you know the OBD2 tool.
Feel free to post or email me directly with any questions.
