Default Wheel Fitment Question

Drew a blank doing a search so I will ask here.

Does 15" Weld Draglites (not the XPs) clear 84 rear brakes?

TIA,

Just a guess, but the rear brakes are pretty small.

The pre-production and possibly some of the factory '84 vettes had 15" wheels, and has the same brakes as the '85 to my knowledge.

I think you'll be fine.

Prototypes had 15" wheels, and that was axed just before production. I think the 16s were to be reserved for the Z51 model, but made it to all models.

Sounds like it is a maybe. I believe the rear discs are 11.4" making it a 5.7" radius. Add 1"+ for the caliper offset from the disc and that makes the effective diameter close to 14". That sounds real tight for a conventional 15" diameter rim. That is why I am asking. The only 15" rim I have available to trial fit is a 15x7 GN steel wheel and it touches the caliper.
