what weight oil?

The smartest thing that Mobil ever did was offer GM free oil because when people buy a vette they think that if GM put it in at the factory it has to be the best. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it is all about Money if they had got a better deal on another brand then that is what would be in it from the factory. With a blower motor you will have extreme loading on the bearings so your are on the right track as far as viscosity. But if the oil film don't keep the bearings from making contact with the crank like at start up then Zinc is your last line of defense Mobil-1 has NO Zinc.
I use 5w-50 Sytec it has Zinc. If you don't know one reason some oil has low or no zinc is it is believed that over time zinc in the oil can degrade the catalytic converter. I don't need to worry about that if you know what I mean :D
Here is a couple web sites you may want to go to. Lot of reading so enjoy. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com when you get their after reading that site click on links and you will find a lot more good sites. Also check out this site http://www.machinerylubrication.com. I know I will need my flack suit on for suggesting that you consider anything other than Mobil-1 :banghead:
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISION
EDIT I just checked and it appears that since the last time that I checked Mobil has changed their oil. If you look up the MSDS sheet they claim that in the TRI-SYNTHETIC 15W-50 it has Zinc Dithiophosphate.
I would not have a problem with using this oil

Thanks for the "high tech" advice. I agree, I thought many others would post Mobil 1, just because of the factory fill or brand name reasons.
