Did everyon get a message from Dynaspark on the availability of the first generation opti replacement? Still seems that they don't have their act together. What's the general consensus on replaceing these because I think mine is bad on my 92,it's running terribly. I can get a new one from sam taylor for around 350 why should I spend twice as much for the Dynaspark?
Does Sam Taylor warranty for a year?
If Sam's Opti breaks, you have to buy another one.
If Phil's Dynaspark breaks, you can replace just that piece.
Phil's also has less of a chance of seal-failure.
As for waiting, I hope I never find out the name of the splined-shaft makers that are causing the Dynaspark to be delayed until early September...
:mad
after much consideration, I am ditching the Opti's high voltage and installing an LTCC coil conversion kit.
It uses 8 LS1 coils instead of the cap/rotor/coil of the opti. The LTCC kit has the brain box and harness.
As nice as the DynaSpark sounds, it is not a true long term solution. As I understand it, they are going to design a high-voltage-less opti that uses the opti only as a crank trigger....
