Brand new here, and looking for advice. Im sure this question is asked a lot, but I couldn't turn much up doing a forum search. Anyway, I just received a stock 93' LT1 and Im going to start adding some performance mods soon. Between Borla, B $ B, and Flowmaster which exhaust system do you prefer, and why? Thanks!!!

What did you search for, it comes up once a week?
Most LT1 guys like Corsa best. Out of those, I would pick Borla or B&B, ive heard both and liked both.
I have the chambered cat back exhaust on my 93. It sounds like a mid 60's big block Vette now. If you want it loud, but looking factory, it is a great kit. I looked at the others, Borla, B&B, Corsa, etc. but wanted that old side exhaust sound. Inside the car, it isn't bad. I can hear the radio without a problem. Outside, it sounds as mean as :reddevil . The old people here in South Florida hear me coming. :D :D
Yet another area where no matter what you choose, someone will always point out the limitations and why you should have choosen X instead of Y. I have a flowmaster setup and hi-flow cat myself. It seems great to me, not too loud, but decent rumble when you get on it. Looks nice too. Didn't cost an arm and a leg. Of course, since I never tried Corsa, I can't really make a fair comparison.
Its weird i saked something similiar not too long ago and the overwhelming opinion was corsa. I also actually had a poll on what wheels i should buy. The majority said chrome Y2k and i got...chrome Z06. Well in a couple days i should have a Magnaflow catback not the corsa that everyone recomended. I have had the Magnaflow described to me as alsmost as loud as the flowmaster but nicer looking, we'll see soon.
Hello Friends!!
I still think it is both better and alot cheaper to build a system by my self. My friend build a dual 3" all the way back with two simonz muffler, It really sound like an BB and cost around 150 dollar. :steering:

   damn those B&B cost $1000, and you mean to tell that you only paid $150 for a 3"??? Is it mandrel bent? SS?
Working on them long enough, you see them all on 'Vettes.
The Flowmaster I found had a bad drone at highway speeds, especially on autos.
The Borla sounded good, but I noticed it was rolled together instead of welded. this made it crack around the ends of the muffler, and where it attached to the tube. (and it was the most expencive)
B&B was about the same as the two above.
As soon as I heard the Corsa, and saw how it was constructed, I knew I was sold!
I had a B&B welds cracked exiting the resonator. Resonance was very loud. Unless it is a ZR1 with dual 3" I would go with Power Effects. Search the forum for old posts on this system.
It is just my opinion, but I feel the Corsas are the "mellowest" of the aftermarket systems available. Quiet at cruising speeds, nice bark to them at WOT. I intalled them on my LT1.
That was before I did the performance mods and added long tube headers, which required the elimination of the catalytic converters. NOW, it grumbles and growls like a Corvette should around town and WOT is a whole new experience when it comes to making noise.
If you like noise (good noise, that is) and are not planning on having longtube headers installed, stick with the Borlas or Flowmasters. But if you are going to go with longtubes, they may be a little too loud inside AND outside of the 'vette.
It may all boil down to personal preference, but one does need to keep in mind that law enforcement types are not always keen on loud cars (while turning a deaf ear to Harleys).

Ain't that the truth. Some juvenile Harley riders around here run straight, open pipes and seem to get away with it. I can hear one right now on the uphill that is half a mile away from my house....
