I'm getting to the closing stages on my 383. Can anyone tell me what kind of number my stock 85 heads flow? Also would the afr 195cc heads work weell with the stealthram? And where is a good place to buy the heads from? This will be a nitrous motor.
Re: afr 195cc heads with stealthram? (85vettelovin)
I'm running AFR 210's under the Stealthram (on a 391 stroker) and there is NO "wall" that you run into at 4800 RPM like the TPI's we had. The RPM's zing up very fast and I can only see valve float(hyd cam) keeping you at 6500 +/- RPM. It breathes like crazy. To me, the torque curve felt flat and keeps going up and up.
If ordering directly from AFR, budget 3 months for them to get you the heads. Try other speed shops to see if they have them laying on a shelf.

Your choice.
My main considerationis the octane I have avalaible around here(only 91 :cry ) as it is my daily driver. Were it a drag only car, I would've milled the heads and cut my pistons to bring about 12:1 using race gas.
I have 10:1.
