"Field Diagnostic Enable" mode for 94
I have a 94 with OBD I, but it has the 16 pin OBD II connector. I noticed there is a "Output/Field Diagnostic Enable" pin in this connector. If I jumper this pin to ground while the car is running, will I be able to view the O2 sensor behavior via the SES light, or the speedometer display? I was just wondering if the 94 has the same capability to display the open loop/closed loop O2 behavior like those cars with the 12 pin connector.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Never mind. Found out on my own. Jumping the Field Diagnostic Enable pin (pin 6) to ground (pin 4) and starting the car allows you to see the SES light flash the O2 sensor output. In open loop it flashes about 2 times per second, then when in closed loop, once per second. And then the time on or off indicates rich/lean readings.
