Default Missing Radiator Fluid

I have checked all my fluids every 2-3 weeks since getting my 1985 Vette, the past two times I have checked, my radiator has been a 1/2 gallon low. There are no puddles in the garage, so is this almost for sure a head gasket, or is there something else it could be?

Do have alum. heads? Mine was a head gasket, left bank on the back side. Slow enough to not puddle but did leave stains down the back side of block etc.

85's had iron heads... donno...

still could be head gaskets, but I kinda doubt it.

you may have a slow leak that only shows under pressure... but that is odd.

check your oil, is it milky? any funny things coming out of the tail pipe? burning coolant smells REAL funny.

check all your hoses...

Oh, if it IS a bad head gasket, stop driving it NOW!!!!!! otherwise, you will sooo toast your motor.

this sounds like a good time to do some upgrades... :D

roller rockers... get the heads done with new springs and such... maybe a cam... update the TPI... nice.

Check your water pump. There is a weep hole in the bottom that serves as venting. When mine was losing fluid it was coming out the weep hole in little amounts until it became lots of fluid. New water pump time.

Good Luck
