Corky if your reading this it further backs up us talking last night on the phone about not spending a crapload of money on the shortblock but rather putting all the money into the upper end. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te.../148_0303_n20/
read that a while back. also, the old hotrodders have long been telling me to stick with 2 bolt blocks and use studs. they claim 4 bolt blocks are weaker due to less material because of the second bolt holes? think they could be right?

Re: Enjoyed this article.... (ski_dwn_it)
I have that CHP and was  when I read it. I am no pro engine builder but I would be apt to think you will run into longevity problems pushing high power levels (w/out nitrous) on a stock reciprocating assembly.
I would love to just put an SR or HSR and some AFR's on my 406 and stuff it in the vette but the stock crank, rods and KB pistons scare the hell out of me.
Thanks for that article, it was interesting as hell. I've always felt a larger shot under momentum is much safer than a smaller shot creating inertia......... goes to show the value of a window switch isn't just for high RPMs :yesnod:
You guys would easily be in the low 10s if you hit a 150 at say 3500 or so....... :reddevil
